Neighborhood Outreach

NOMAD regularly visits parks, rec centers, and youth programs in areas of poverty throughout the Tampa Bay Area to provide a few hours of pop-up community Art Bus painting to families in the surrounding neighborhoods. We’ve known from the start that asking families to come to us—even if our programs were free—would present a very real barrier to participation for many due to limited access to transportation as well as household priorities around time and other essential resources.

We partner with municipalities like the cities of St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa, as well as neighborhood associations, small businesses, Head Start centers, and youth programs to coordinate FREE pop-up bus painting out in the neighborhoods, giving families an opportunity to share memorable experiences with one another in a setting where all are welcome.

A $10/mo donation helps to keep our community engagement initiative with neighborhood youth going strong. This patron level also helps to fund the Justice Studio and Group Children’s Homes initiatives described above. We’d love to have you onboard at the Advocate level…will you become a patron?
